Monteverde

Our full day in Monteverde has been action-packed, with a visit to a local farm, time exploring Santa Elena, and the always-popular zip lining. At the farm, our students learned about small-scale agriculture in the region and had a chance to make their own empanadas. Santa Elena offered the opportunity to snack and souvenir shop on their own in a small, safe area. We were so proud to see their confidence grow, as they practiced their Spanish and pushed their comfort zones. Zip-lining… is just as fun as it sounds. Who can argue with flying through the canopy at speed while strapped to a tiny wire?

With such a large group, each bus experienced the adventures at different times, but we will be back together for dinner tonight. The students today showed their care and advocacy for each other, which is a treat to observe as a chaperone.

Tomorrow, we hit the road for the beach (with some very exciting stops). Pura vida!
